Hillside burning north of Escondido

The California Highway Patrol has reported a brush fire burning along Interstate 15 north of Escondido Saturday.

According to the CHP, a car went off the road at Old Highway 395 and caught on fire about 6:15 p.m.
Two right northbound lanes have been shut down, and one structure is threatened.

The driver reportedly was out of the vehicle, which became engulfed in flames and sparked a brush fire.
